Ever wonder if you’re getting your daily requirements of orange? How about yellow? Just how much is TOO much blue? Well, thankfully Icelandic designer Hafsteinn Juliusson (of design firm HAF, natch) has solved the riddle for you, Batman, with these color-coded plates.

His website describes the ceramic plates as follows:

Are you eating right? The wheel of nutrition is a dining plate that reminds us of the fundamental values of nutrition. The plate comes in three types: Diet, Extra ordinary and Supersize. These plates have different proportions for people with different needs. The archetype of the ceramic plate is enhanced with explanatory
graphics and distinctive colors.

No word on whether or not residents of Reykjavik have the same dietary needs as people in say, Akron, Ohio, but these plates do offer a sound solution to helping people figure out the right proportion of food to eat, without using a pesky scale.

Strangely enough, these plates aren’t currently listed for sale in the STORE section of their website.

DNA/RNA base pair friendship necklace set

Genes are written in DNA and RNA molecules using a code of chemical units called bases. These bases form pairs, which is critical to their function. In DNA, A (adenine) pairs with T (thymine) and G (guanine) pairs with C (cytosine). In RNA, G pairs with C and A pairs with U (uracil).

The charms are based on shapes of the base molecules. They are strung onto a chain at the place where they would normally connect to the sugar-phosphate backbone.

This set of two necklaces comes with your choice of A-T, A-U, or G-C. The charms are about 3/4 inches long, are made with high-quality reclaimed/recycled sterling silver, and strung on a 16 in sterling silver snake chain.

I’ve been driving a lot lately for work and therefore listening to more music via XM or CD or iPhone hookup, whatever. I realized that there seems to be a theme with pop songs and the word ‘TONIGHT!’. Xtina (really, we’re spelling it that way now?) has ‘Not Myself Tonight’ as her new single. I guess Jonas Brothers have a song called ‘Tonight’. But, Pink is the biggest culprit in my opinion:
